About me

My approach to design is holistic. I work closely with clients and take stock of what their needs are, visual styles they like, and who their audience is. My design style leans toward the clean, elegant, uncluttered. Once a design is established, I start to think of how it fits into an overall marketing strategy.

A strong visual identity, including logo, fonts, and color palettes help to inform other design pieces such as business cards, stationery, and websites.

How the Coo Wala design process works

Learning & Strategizing

The very first thing is to explore your company or organization’s core values. What is your vision, for now and the future? Who is your target audience? We’ll discuss your preferences when looking at marketing and branding. Is there some design, or art, or person you draw inspiration from? Are there colors that you are really drawn to? Having all of this information is helpful when I start to draw and design.

Gathering

This is the part of the project where I actually start making sketches, I pull together various color palettes, think about how the visual styling will unfold and come up with several unique concepts. If you like any of these I begin to add some depth; color, texture, fonts, additional marks which complement the main visual identity. At each step along the way, you will have valuable input. This your project after all, and making it a collaboration always makes for better branding and graphic design.

Creating Beautiful & Effective Solutions

When you finally select the look that will become your fresh new visual identity I will create a package of logos that can be used for print, web, social media, screen printing. Then depending on how far you want to take your new branding, we could launch a Squarespace website and create collateral pieces (business cards and stationery), and coordinate with printers to get things done just right. It’s all a part of the Coo Wala personal touch.

My law firm hired Dan to execute a set of stationery, business cards, and to design a website. Dan brought a fresh perspective to the project, understood our needs, and produced a brilliant design for all three subsets of the overall project. I would highly recommend Dan’s work to all. The work was produced on time and within budget.
